The thing that makes me laugh is that every single person who defends our helmets, does so with the same, completely ignorant response.

The problem is NOT which shade of gold looks the best. That's another debate for another time. The problem is the consistency of the gold used everywhere else in the football program, athletics department, university. The helmets are the O-N-L-Y place that you will find the piss-yellow gold. If USF used piss-yellow gold on the actual jersey...or if the basketball/baseball/softball/soccer/track/badminton/chess teams used the piss-yellow...or if the logos that you find throughout campus were piss-yellow, then using them on the football helmets would be acceptable.   [/broken record]

The same response is far from ignorant ..... unless you are one of the fashionistas. The response has been that the piss yellow gold has been our helmet color pretty much since the beginning ... it's OUR fairly distinctive helmet color and not the same generic gold you see on other gold helmetted teams. The fact that it doesn't match the gold used everywhere else within out athletics programs doesn't mean **** to anyone outside of the Project Runway mob... [/broken record]
