thanks guys it is a real tough time right now but Matt will get thru this and you all know how much he loves USF and the fans.

With out question a huge loss. Matt Grothe = USF. We're nowhere near where we are in the national spotlight without him.

BUT! It's time for the team to step up and show Matt what he really means to them.

The season IS NOT OVER. We need to pray for Matt's recovery and then get behind the rest of the team like never before.

STAMPEDE!  FINISH STRONG!  GO BULLS!

Well it is like a kick in the gut. It is really to bad that Matt did not get to see this season through. Sports and life can be cruel. Character is determined by how you handle adversity.

If you had to name one player who brought the Bulls to national prominence it is Matt Grothe.

He is what the Bulls are all about.

I am very sad to hear this.  I have been a huge Grothe fan ever since his first game...  I am not sure how the college football medical redshirt rules work.  I really hope that wasn't the last game for Matt Grothe.

Hopefully he can rehab and some NFL team will give him a shot as a safety or something. Dude is a serious competitor.

Matt pretty much put the Bulls on the national map.  It is such a shame that his season/career ends this way. I am glad he got the BE record.

Now we reload with BJ and move forward.

I wish the best for Matt.
