Birmingham has a mild climate and quality BBQ.

having a bowl game in a city with absolutely no football is a joke.

as is having a bowl game in a city that only cares about SEC football.

both bowls need to go

Agreed.  I would much rather go back to Bham than TO.  Plus, I've got people in the 'Ham and between driving (instead of flying) and lodging it would be MUCH cheaper!

both bowls need to go

1. Toronto and Birmingham both have football.

2. We just got the Champs Bowl... and Orlando has about the same level of football as Toronto and Birmingham.

3. We are likely to get the Sun Bowl... El Paso has about the same level of football as Orlando.

4. Charlottee doesn't have any college football.

5. Toronto is a fun city ... a heck of a lot like New York City.

6. Birmingham does have some good BBQ.  It's a cheap city... only need 1 night in a hotel (the one before the game).

We MAY go back to Papa John Bowl.

We will NEVER go to Toronto in the winter time.  Nice city, but way, way too cold that time of year.

B-ham if I had to choose. Doesn't matter where we go, I'll be there.

I think it's the opponent (MAC) that is my only problem with the International Bowl.  I think it would be a fun city to visit even in the winter.  But heck I live in Tampa, so a warm weather bowl isn't that big of a deal.  And the game is played inside.

I would think we may keep both bowls. With Notre Dame in the mix, you may need 7 Bowls to address all of your bowl eligible teams. I would think the Big East would prefer to keep a tie in just in case they need it. You could have 7 bowl eligible teams or six plus Notre Dame. Last year, ND ended up in Hawaii at 6-6, maybe we will do a tie in where one of our lesser bowls would have a shot at a 6-6 ND.

Personally, I'd say neither.  If I had to pick, I'd go with Toronto.  Yes, it's a long trip for us if we were to go, but with the majority of the BE up there, and they way selection goes for the mid to low level BE bowl teams, odds are a northeastern school will go to Toronto before us.

If it were up to me, I'd like to see a place like Indianapolis or St. Louis get a bowl game.  A Big Ten-Big East matchup is what I'd like to see.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
