The ACC may pay out more overall, but how much more does it cost to travel, especially for football.  Rutgers, UConn, Syracuse, Pitt, and WV are all closer than the bulk of the ACC teams.

It's also a Catholic school, so adding BC back would placate the Catholic schools in non-football sports.

And while the ACC does have a revenue advantage, that advantage has been shrinking.  On the football end it looks better to distribute the money between nine schools compared to 12.

We'll see what happens.  I'd be okay with both BC and Maryland joining, but that is doubtful because football would work best at either 9 or 12 unless they like the idea of playing 9 conference games with a 10 member football conference.

Just wondering who the ACC would go after if Boston College and/or Maryland leave the ACC for the Big East?

No chance at the Big East getting both Maryland and BC. BC burned too many bridges on their exit.

ACC could try to go after ND again if Maryland decided to leave.

I agree that we don't need to reach back to add a team. Big East football already has a bad reputation in the eyes of the national media.

Macphisto, the new ACC basketball and football contract is going to be insane.

Plus, 7 schools in the ACC made more money than the highest Big East team last year.

While the BE certainly has one of the best basketball contracts, the football contract is weak, very weak...just look at how many BE games have been pushed to Friday.

The ACC football deal is for about 40 Mil a year, the Big East? 15

Again, I think the chances are slim to none, but IF one of them were to leave, I would have to imagine that they might look at USF to fill the void. Which would completely defeat the purpose of the BE trying to take one of their teams.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
