Norton was good for me, i don't know what you all did to cause it to be an issue.

But i use Trend Micro. Great program!

If you all would agree on one, it would make it easier for me.  :)

unfortunately this is like trying to get New Yorker's to agree on their favorite pizza place...everyone seems to have a different favorite

I'm in the exact same situation...stuff expiring soon and I'm far from a techy: I've got Trend Micro and Webroot Spy sweeper...any opinions on either program??? saw one positive for Trend

Who do you rely on then, Victoria's Secret?

I worked at Victoria's Secret for almost a year...trust me when I say many of the girls there are slow on the uptake when it comes to just about anything...and unfortunately for you boys the girls that work there look nothing like the ones in the magazines

Just go download the AVG free version. I use it on all of my home PCs. At the least, it will get you by until we can have a consensus.

McAfee is all I have every used.  I have their online version, Firewall, spyware protection, etc.  I do have some issues with it though.  First, the spyware protection is non-existent.  Even though it claims it is protecting, I use PC Tools Spyware Doctor and it catches all kinds of stuff that gets through McAfee.  Second, some of the automatic updates disable the protections and you get all kinds of alerts when it is done automatically updated.  You have to manually activate it then.  Third, I am getting a new computer soon and want the 64 bit Vista or the Windows 7 if it is out.  McAfee doesn't offer a 64 bit version.  Does anyone know when Windows 7 is slated to be released?

After reading this thread (thanks) I think I will go with the Bitdetector that is rated number one.

Windows 7 is this fall as I recall.

Okay, so my expiration date snuck up on me.  I had looked at Kaspersky and Panda at Staples.

I wimped out and decided not to risk the blue screen of death and stayed with Norton another year, upgrading to their 360 premier edition.

I will say that it runs better than the prior version.  So far I am okay with it.
