Cojones .... for what?

The racism suit was against USF / Winters.

The host of this event would have necessarily

sent out invitations, and when received, would

be evaluated by the guest as to whether or not

to attend.

Or is the line of thinking that invitations should not

have been sent to the students filing the suit in

the first place?

The players are alumnni and this is a part of the

effort to buid tradition. If their tenure at USF were

so distasteful, they would probably not have returned.

On the other hand, it may not necessarily be representative

of their overall experience at USF.

Nothing wrong with corrective action. Happens every day.

Sorry, the cojones is for the players to actually show up!

Not the university for inviting them!  Not to mention I am surprised they didn't have anything in the settlement about relinquishing all relationships with USF.

I dont know about the law involving University functions, but if someone sues a restuarant for racism, the retaruant has the right to refuse them service if they try and come back.

I think it all depends on whether you feel there were grounds for the lawsuit. I do not, I think it was a bunch of spoiled opportunists that took a shot and cost us a great AD, so naturally I wish they would all go straight to hell and never utter the letters USF again. I could care less about mending fences or building THAT KIND of tradition. Those girls had some balls, I bet if you asked their dates they would agree.

Why are you so obsessed with race, bro? I'm sure USF did what it was suppose to do to rectify the situation.

What is a spoiled opportunist? That doesn't make any sense.

You know what... some of us knew those girls. They bled green and gold as much as the next one of us, and worked their tails off trying to play a sport for USF. None of us were on the inside with Jerry Ann Winters and those ladies. Coach Winters was always cool with me, but I hung around those girls as well and had good relationships. They felt slighted and they did what they had to do. They still bleed green and gold. They couldn't help that there was a communication problem with Coach Winters. Why is it their fault? I love USF as much as the next person, but when there are personal issues that need to be resolved, you resolve them, even if the laundry gets aired out in a public forum. Doesn't mean I dislike USF... People need to remember USF is bigger than the one athletic program or coach. If someone sees Dion at a game in the future, tell her I said, "what's up!" No reason throwing former players under the bus that had a legitimate issue with a coach.
