I heard Ron Zook Just got fired.  (It's about time in my opinion)

I think Spurrier is going back to UF.

He never was coming here, so why worry about it?

I say the old ball coach ends back up with the Gators. Would be great to grab Zook as a recruiter, the guy could sure pull some talent.

Was Zook a OC or DC prior to the UF job?  If he was a DC, he would conflict with his greatness.  If he was a OC then give him a try, can't be worse than we have now and maybe just maybe he can get some of his UF recruits to follow him.

It is strange how things work, I remember that Urban Myer and JL were on lists for coaching positions.  Urban is still on the list and well JL's stock has...

SS could do good with the gaytors again for 3 or 4 years using zooks recruits.. then leave again after empty cupboard syndrome sets in.

Funny how Leavitt is not on anyone's list for the job given our down season.  He was like the second coming for Alabama when we were hot.

According to radio reports... Florida has contacted Spurrier to see if he is interested, and apparently have given him 24 hours to decide.  Probably so that Spurrier doesn't string them along (see Buccaneers, Tampa) the rest of the year.

It would be a shame if the UF alumni forced Zook out only to have Spurrier tell them no.

I don't think that Spurrier will go to UF, I don't think that he wants to be compared to himself.

I also don't think that he will go to the ACC (FSU and Miami) play there now he did not like losing to FSU and he stopped playing Miami because he could not beat them.

I don't like the Dolphin job either but his ego wants to prove he is right but I think his mind is saying you got your butt whipped.

I do think that Spurrier could/would go to USF, we are a BCS school in FL and with the right coach and recruiting we could be atop the BE for a long time with plenty of BCS bowl births.  This would complete his FL carrier by taking two programs from rags to riches.  But then again he may not want a project and right now we have a coach.

I do like the UL coach Petrino (sp), a southern-ish coach with a good offense and defense plus he has recruited in FL.  Someone also mentioned today on 620 WDAE was Monty Kiffin would be interested.
