They are terrible this season, but they are ahead of us in the conference....as of today, Pitt, Uconn & WVU are all ahead of USF in the W/L category, with Pitt & USF in the top 25. So absolutely, either WVU or UCONN could be the BE champions. Gotta remember, once the BE starts conference play, each loss is extremely expensive. While the 5-0 'pre-season' was entertaining,it's that conference stretch where the rubber meets the road. I'd prefer one of the BCS bowl games or Charlotte. Just being honest, nothingelse has much appeal. St. Pete would be a novelty, but we can take pizza and cold weather attire off the agenda.

Seems strange. Also, WVU had a hard time with Syracuse today, so anything can happen.

FSU in the Gator bowl would be SWEET. Not as sweet, of course, as Sugar or Oranges though....
Guest nybullsfan
I'm still hoping for the BCS.Only if ND keeps losing will we have a shot at the Gator.Weirdly enough, the St. Pete bowl would be the third best alternative for the school, for three reasons (1) payout, (2) low cost to send team and band, and (3), highest probability of a win.If we don't get the BCS or Gator, I think the school would actually lobby the Meineke to NOT pick us, so we could go to St. Pete.

Bowl Payout

BCS 17,000,000

Gator Bowl 2,500,000

Sun Bowl 1,900,000

St. Petersburg Bowl 1,000,000

Meineke Car Care Bowl 1,000,000

International Bowl 750,000

Papajohns.com Bowl 300,000

Updated: Meineke is also up to $1m this year

Boston College is still there though. I have a problem, when those predicting can't keep their own eggs in order.
