Well, they should keep running the spread, but make better play calling and run the ball more. Not exactly a style, more of a coaching decision

With the lack of a "good" I-Formation I think we need to Pass to Run. Look at Hawaii last year with Colt Brennan. Look at Missouri and Texas Tech this year. Look at Kansas. The short passing game can be very successful.

They should choose to have SOME SORT OF GAMEPLAN....period.

I think coach Gregory might be surprised in how much of a difference that can make.

Still can't believe that comment....from the horse's mouth!!

MAB...agree with you here... This isn't a game of Madden Football, you have to develop a solid offensive gameplan that will see you through the ebb and flow of the game. Rather than imposing our will on other teams..we react and take what the opposing defense give us. If we want to be a powerhouse program, we need to develop an attack strategy in advance and just execute. The way we've usually managed the clock at the end of halves alone shows me that we aren't preparing enough beforehand.

You need to add in a "Non-Gregory style offense". I'll take that one.

You must choose one thing and do it very well.

I am partial to the I-formation power running game with some option mixed in.  Kind of like VT used to run with Mike Vick.  Make them try to stop the power running game, and use play action to burn them deep.  Use enough option to keep the D honest.  There is nothing more demoralizing to a defense than having the ball run down their throat and being unable to stop it.  Do this, and do it well, and you have a winning football team.  Power running also means ball control which makes your defense better too.

How about consistent?

I think it is hard to build any consistency using 9 different wide receivers and 4 different running backs (5 if you count Grothe)
