Saw this on Facebook on the USF Football Fans site (http://www.new.facebook.com/event.php?eid=49107201752&ref=share):

We're aiming specifically for the 15th of November; however, since the time is to be determined we may reschedule for the 23rd of November if it turns out to be a daygame. Our goal is to catch everyone watching the game both on field, opposing team, and tv off guard by activating glow sticks right before the opening kickoff and 2nd half kickoff. This will work only if we get enough participants. Glow sticks are roughly $2 each at Wal-Mart for the large ones and you will need two. We are teaming up with the band, Beefstuds and hopefully the scoreboard employees to signal the break of the sticks. If you are interested feel free to email the group, any administrator, or the group, "Everyone At USF." Please participate and spread the word. Our Bulls will need the encouragement toward the end of the season and especially against the higher ranked opponents.

Not sure it would be very effective because of the daylight/stadium lights, but I like the idea if enough people did it.

Would be great if you could get the stadium to turn off the lights (maybe leave on one bank)...maybe right as the team is coming out of the tunnel.

I would love this tradition if we could get it going. Similar to how hoops teams are introduced with the lights off.

Good idea, but check with TSA, RayJay and Athletics to make sure people will be able to bring them in the stadium.  A large glow stick could be considered a "projectile" and it would be a bummer if everyone has to throw them away at the gate.

The person that came up with this idea is a Lightning fan, the Bolts do this during the playoffs with blue glow sticks and I have to say that its pretty freaking impressive.

However with the night time lights at Ray Jay this would not work, the stadium would need to shut the lights off, all of them, for this to look good. I'm sure that the Bulls Clubs and Alumni could get athletics to make a request if they wanted this to take off - when the Lightning do it they get tons of press, great photo op.

It takes way too long for the lights to turn back on.

The lights at the St. Pete Times Forum are the same as the ones at Ray Jay - it takes a second to turn off and back on, just a turn of the knob.
