That page for Hubert is four years old, so not sure if that e-mail is still a good one for him or not. As for the story, don't look at me -- I was a college freshman back then ...

I posted this article last week after doing a Sptimes.com archive search; it's a great read:

I found that Hubert is now doing a piece for the local ABC affiliate called "The Mizell Minute" and he writes features for a mag called "Gator Country."

I think it would be kind of funny if Hubert were to do a follow-up article on this for the St. Pete Times.  Pull some strings Greg!

I was in like 8th grade, that seems along time ago but I don't think many people could have seen how far this program could go in such a short time.

So many football teams out there have been around for 75 years+ and they flounder around doing not much, we as football fans of USF need to

be more thankful for what we have.

Go Bulls and lets kick some Kansas but :)

Gurly, what were you like 10 when that was written?  Good find for sure.

Mizell was just inducted into the Florida Sports Hall of Fame this year too.  Maybe they can throw him out based on this article.

Hilarious.

In hindsight, it's funny. But at the time who could have predicted all this? Most teams take DECADES to perform at this level.

I loved reading Howard, and it would be great to get his reaction to this, maybe respond in a little article, if he were up to it.
