The Sun Bowl was a game where coach Wally Burnham said he knew the team wasn't focus and wasn't fired up during warm ups. That was the worst they played all year. I do believe that embarrassing lost will help them this off season work outs. Look at Mike Ford and lean he is. They are working hard.

RB will be our key strength soon enough, it will start to be solid this year. We just need the Big Offensive line to stay healthy

Awesome- Auburn and WV.

Crappy- Cincy, Rutgers, Conn.

Embarassing- Oregon.

Consistency, consistency, consistency. And like nobull.Bulls accurately said, the O line needs to stay healthy, we're shallow there.

If the O line stays healthy, we can be more consistent, and win both the games we need to win, and those big games (i.e. Kansas) that give us the nat'l attn.

I agree with Smazza on this one  our offense is way to predictible-Hopefully with a better running game it will improve

Auburn and West Virginia games are signs of things to come.  I have never heard Leavitt so confident in his comments as he has been in this off-season.  I can only think that he knows he has a better team this year.  With almost everyone back, the experience should lead to consistency.  Winning is usually a progression, so we might look back on the rise and fall from #2 and Sun Bowl loss as stepping stones to bigger and better things.

it doesn't matter how much talent we have on offense.  if Gregory runs the same 5-play offense agian this year, we are going to be a 9-win squad again.

The Cinci game was only 'crappy' in the first quarter and a half.  Unfortunately in that time period we got ourselves into a hole to big to dig out of, at least not without the ref helping Cinci's cause.  We had over 300 yards total offense in the 2nd half alone, and held Cinci to something under 150 in the 2nd half!

5-play offense = 21st ranked scoring offense....I'll take it.

Two of the greatest victories for our program, that's for sure!  :popcorn

I think we're going to be very good, again, this year. We have so many of the guys back, especially on offense.

Jerome Murphy could be a very good returner for us, but do we want to risk him playing special teams when he's going to be so important on defense this year?

The best returner should always return kicks.  Actually if they want to increase their pro prospects then they will return because pros like to see that they can help out in multiple ways.  I think back to all the great kick and punt returners, like Desmond Howard, Charles Woodsen, and PacMan Jones, and they all played special teams.  If he's the best then he should be used.

Any time we play poorly enough to not be able to win, its a crappy game. Especially if we dig ourselves a big hole. Blaming anything other than our play (like the refs), in my opinion, makes us whiny bitches, no better than UCiF.

We lost because we didn't play better than the opponent, the end.
