While we await the Sunbowl, I just wanted to take a second to commend Matt Grothe and the health he has maintained this season.  I worry about him getting hurt every time he runs the ball.  He did a great job of adding some bulk in the off-season (he weighed 190 pounds in his redshirt year, 200lbs last year, 213 this year according to gousfbulls.com) and he seemed to have taken care of himself on the field.

Way to go Matt!  Thank you!

every time he runs up the middle I hold my breeth. The good thing about this team is we can win w/o Grothe. Gregory is just a step below Matt. We have 2 solid QB's

We do know that Gregory can ball--- thanks to the blowout wins during the season giving him plenty of reps in live games. I'm not sold on the "just a step below Matt" part but I feel pretty comfortable if we have to go to him as our QB-- moreso than PJ last year who while he could move the ball somewhat was not quite effective at the long passing game or getting USF into the end zone. We probably could have rolled up another 14 points on ECU in the bowl last season with an effective QB. At least PJ didn't lose the game-- but as a custodian, he got us out of there with the W.

From what I heard, Gregory is just as good as Grothe.

But, yes, he's done a great job this year.

If Grothe is an "A" quarterback, Gregory is a "C+" quarterback.

Not bad for a backup, but he is still very much a backup.

Good to know you can watch practice from Richmond, there MAB... and be able to grade the backup QB's performance. Tell me what does Voss look like?

I would think Gregory be transferring to another school if

A) He already had to sit out an year when he transferred from IU and

B) His dad is a coach on the staff.

I think Gregory is a good QB and could start for an average D-IA team or any D-IAA team.

I'd love to see 40 points on Oregon so Gregory can have a whole quarter to himself...

Who knows how good Gregory could be if he had more game experience.

Good to see Grothe bulking up.  Beef and beer does it for me!
