Would be great if oklahome can beat the winner of the ku/mizzou game and wvu wins out

I think then wvu has a shot at the natl title game and uconn will get the bcs game by default of having the second best conf record.

Am I correct?

In that case we probably go to the sun and ru goes to toronto with cincy going to charlotte

I cannot see how UConn-- with three losses under your scenario qualifies as a BCS bowl team--- not likely

The onyl way we get two BCS squads is UConn winning out, winning conference, and WVU not falling in the rankings outside the BCS top 14

Don't forget the International Bowl.......which may be our destination.

Sun Bowl is only a possibility for us if UConn beats WVU and both get a BCS bid, else UConn is going to the Sun Bowl.

Cincy is a lock for the Papa Johns bowl.

Rutgers is likely going to the Meineke Bowl.

USF is likely going to the International Bowl.

I think Rutgers and USF should flip flop spots but I don't think the Meineke wants us back with only a 1 year absence.

FSU vs USF in the Meineke would bring at least 10,000 USF fans.

only way Rutgers gets to Charlotte over USF is if USF loses at Pitt and Rutgers beats Louisville and they both end up 8-4, and even then im not sure itll happen.

the fact that we played Meineke 2 years ago means nothing.

You think only 10,000 fans would make the trip to Charlotte?  Maybe I am overly optimistic, I think 10,000 students would go for FSU vs USF.

WRONG

Where you finish in the conference and your record have almost nothing to do with who the Bowls pick to play their games. Having played in the same bowl two years prior does though-- they want new teams rotating through that bowl game to keep it as interesting to locals as possible and to bring new fans in.

the most important factor in bowl selections is revenue, and fans from Tampa/Florida are alot less likely to head to Toronto than fans in the Tri-State area.

just a matter of fact.  the international bowl would be committing financial suicide to select USF as one pick, to face a MAC team.  there would be very little interest for that matchup, and few USF fans traveling to Toronto to see it.

similarly, the ACC would likely be more interested facing a team from the region than looking at Rutgers, especially if that team is FSU Clemson or another southern team...  if youre a Nole fan, would u rather face an in-state upstart, or f'ing Rutgers on a down year?

and why isn't the USF invitation to the Gator bowl a given?

have you been to a USF bowl game before?

sure have.

Gator Bowl isn't a given because they have other tie-ins to think about... B12 and ND, to be exact.

Toronto is an idiotic bet for a southern team and a MAC team.  fans in Florida will go to Birmingham or Charlotte.  i dont see them going to Toronto to play Bowling Green or Ball State.
