I meant Orlando's population alone (29th). If you include Melbourne (which is 72 miles away from Downtown Orlando) then obviously the numbers are skewed. I do not know if Brighthouse Orlando includes Melbourne.

Also, Daytona Beach is 55.5 miles from Orlando. I was not including Daytona in the analysis. The Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater area is all within 25 miles of each other. I wonder if the numbers in your links include Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Ft. Myers, etc, which are all within close proximity to Tampa?

Tampa's market includes Sarasota/Bradenton; Cleveland includes Akron; Detroit includes Ann Arbor.

Those numbers do include those, it's how a DMA Is made up. DMAs are uniform.

Without spliting hairs, Orlando is outside the Top 20 by most indicators as far as market size goes.

No, it's been ranked in the top 20 since the early 2000s.

This is probably a response to emails to the cable network.

It might also be because Orlando was rated a top 5 market for college football ratings last year (SportsBusinessDaily.com)and Brighthouse might be using that market to test fan response.

Best thing we can do. Sign up for ESPNU...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/espnu/index

I would switch to Verizon, but I figure I'll lose more coverage by losing Catch 47 then I will by not having ESPN U. I hope Brighthouse adds it sometime soon.

This was the only thing keeping me from switching as well; however, Catch 47 has not been as great at carrying more USF sporting events. At this point, I'd rather switch to Verizon so I can get ESPN U and NFL Network. Catch 47 and Brighthouse have really disappointed me so far.

I-4 is about 50 miles north on I-75 from Sarasota.

While that doesn't exactly answer the question, it gives an idea of distance.
