So he is going to stay at VCU until what job opens up?? An elite program probably will not be firing their coach anytime soon.

I don't think he'll have to go to an elite program when the time comes, just one with better facilities, bigger budget and a higher profile conference. A program that, with the right coach, could be turned into an elite one with.

Very true, but I doubt the package is going to be very exciting to him. He will probably want much more money spent on basketball than we might be able to afford.

I said a few weeks ago this guy would be the biggest coach this offseason. I thought at 1st he'd leave, but I'm pretty sure he's staying another season. He will get a killer job. Much like Pelphrey (who isn't my #1, but is up there) he was one of those coaches that was viewed as a future stud.

He's not coming to USF, he'll be in demand from a really big program one day.

I watched this guy take a decent team and make them a VERY good one over this entire season.

The Richmond area is abuzz today.

Doesn't look like he's coming here, but it would have been the smart hire.

So Grant coached at Florida, and that makes him unacceptable?

That's gay.

He played at Dayton, and now he's VCU's head coach.  You think VCU is under the impression he's a Gator?

The BE is enough of a draw for any coach. Getting a coach to work here under the USF circumstances is the key!

Rumor has it that Tony Ammaker (Michigan) will be fired for not making it to the NCAA's, and losing early in the Not Invited Tournament.
