The $$$$ that are going to be going to each school will more than make up for 1 team not making the NCAA Tournament. It's a good deal, but not so good that teams will be willing to sacrifice NCAA bids for it. (I'm not just talking about Syracuse here)

Every single Big East conference game will be on some form of ESPN medium next season. Try getting that deal in a split conference.

While they might not be the deal that associates them with ESPN Regional they do make their way on TV. The "every game will be on TV" deal is great, but the reality is most the teams in our conference (outside of USF) have the most (if not all) of their games on TV in some form.Considering that, I don't think the idea of being affiliated with ESPN's Regional TV is going to offset a team's desire to make the NCAA's consistently. It's a great deal for USF, schools like Depaul (FSN Chicago), Seton Hall (MSG, FSNY) have it covered.

Very important from a recruiting standpoint.

The deal is awesome, but when you look at it, all it is doing is giving ESPN the rights to produce the games that FSN Chicago, MSG, etc were originally producing. They might as well throw out experts when it comes to the NIT. It just looks like they pick bubble teams out of a hat after the main tourney is filled. I'd be amazed if we get a head coach that's already having a success getting to the Big Dance at a lower tier conference.... unless we throw a boatload of money at him. Looks like a hungry assistant may be a more realistic option.

In other words, "I've heard of FSU & Clemson, they should be #1".The Cuse and Drexel got screwed. Arkansas got in by their run in the SEC tourney.
