I feel bad for RMC... best of luck to him.

I hope DW continues his good record and gets someone really good so we can turn this program around.

RMC may end up being like that transition CEO of a company who does a great behind-the-scenes job in getting things in order, but doesn't get any credit when things get better.

I'd also like to note that I'm just as proud to be an alum today as I was yesterday.

That's really a great way to put it. If nothing else, the quality level, quality refering to talent and personality, of the team is better than it was when he took over. Obviously not where it needed to be, talentwise, at this point in time but the next coach should have a solid foundation of g/f types for several years but needs to go get more big men to replace KG.

i think everyone needs to wait and see what happens next.  lets hope that DW isnt changing for the sake of change.  just to ease the pressure off of him for another 2 seasons.  you cant keep on rebuilding.  we need to make a bold move now and maybe over spend and build something real nice.

i think the new coach will be held under a great deal of pressure and they will know that.  it might limit the people willing to take the job for what we will pay.

my question is...how will all the darksiders take it if the new coach comes in and goes 2-14 in big east play?  specially considering the team he is going to take over is miles ahead of the team that RMC took over.

In the end, I wouldve supported whatever Woolard's decision was. I think there were pros and cons on both sides of the "fire Mac argument".

Good luck to ya, Coach. One thing is for sure, the program is better off than what it was when you got here.

thanks to Coach Mac for his efforts. I applaude his class and dignity with which he ran our program.

That said, this was absolutely the right move. I very excited that we have the opportunity to bring in a legitimate Big East coach. It can only get better right?

To be perfectly honest, I'd just prefer to wait to see if that does happen rather than start with a bunch of "what happens when" things ....

Hopefully that scenario doesn't happen.  I hope to god that all the darksiders can rub it in my face and say "see, I told you a change would turn out great for us".

I really hope that is the case.

Just what I was thinking, my analogy would have been Sam Wyche, they set the table but couldn't get the ingredients right for the dinner.  I hope that DW gives MAC a good recommendation.  MAC was a stand up guy.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
