Kicked off the team?  That is a low number.  We may have more leave, but VERY few will be kicked off the team.

I don't consider people that don't qualify initially to have been on the team yet, so I'm not sure why some of you expect so many people to be kicked off the team.

also, technically, he smoked his way off the team because the rule was set and he knew the consequences.  it's not like Leavitt suddenly decided he didn't like him and kicked him off.

Based on grades and possible other "team rule violations" I would safely say 4.  I am including Julmiste in the equation.  Whether Ponton gets the boot depends upon whether he stays clean and maintains his academic standing.  Insofar as the other football players are concerned, I see at least 2 losing their scholarships.

Don't forget, regardless of what we may think, they are kids, and sometimes they do stupid things.  They are given chances, but the old 3 strikes and your out rules appears to be the right way to go.
