Ahhhhh....I can tell that this has been a hot topic before.  I just noticed while in B'ham and asked my buddies...WTF?  Doesn't seem to make any sense to me whatsoever.  Now I can't look at a picture or game footage without noticing.  It's driving me nuts!!!

Shoop has some strong opinions on these topics and has not hesitated to express them in this forum.  I would hate to trump him by answering when I know that it would give him so much pleasure to do so.  Just wait -- it can't be long in coming...

Shoop and I are probably the two biggest "bellyachers" on this travesty.  And it IS a travesty.  The helmets looked sweet with the green mask & decal.  Now, it looks like we're UCF wannabe's.

Is black one of our colors?  'Nuff said.

Yeah, I've heard the same.....and it's hogwash.

If you go back and look at footage/photos from the years we had the green logo, you can see very little if ANY difference in the visibility.

If that was indeed the reason for it, it was a good experiment, but it's failed.  Let's go back to having our two actual SCHOOL COLORS on the football helmet.....the single most recognizable element of ANY uniform in ANY sport at ANY school!
