this is about support for usf!

there is a fairness issue, mac may or may not be the guy but with all the has happened to this program since he showed up (cusa-BE, disciplin problems, defections, ilness, injuries ect. (some his fault others out of his control) he deserves this year to prove himself.

finally there is a money and preception isssue, we are not BAMA football(fire shula) after he takes you through probation and have the $$$ to buy out old and pay the new guy.

we are stuck with mac for this year like it or not he IS the usf men's bball coach and i support DW MAC and USF unless and until that changes.

ALSO I bullieve DW is on top of this situation and has a short list ready to go if mac does not step up so why do darksiders keep crying?

All this darksider stuff is so silly, strikes me as the kind if kiddie **** one used to talk about in their treehouse.  Let's be realistic, folks, the guy's not doing his job, as I've said before (UH OH, A DARKSIDER QUOTE COMING), if any of us performed in our jobs like he does in his, we'd ALL BE FIRED OR OUR COMPANY WOULD GO UNDER. That's not whimsy, that's reality.  Differing opinions make america (can't you hear kate smith in the background....?), in some sense they keep boards like this alive. All you guys should lighten the fuu'uup, appreciate some diversity, no pun intended, cheer for the poor bastard, but acknowledge he ain't getting the job done and that's prime fodder for second guessing in the internet age.

Tell me, isn't everyone more fired up about baseball under Lelo than they have been under EC in the last 5 years ?  Same for hoops, i'd guess, but i'd simply settle for a .500 record and the same coach, I have no axe to grind, for god's sake, we're just FANS here.

hey, I know, why doesn't someone pull out the race card for those who see things in a different light re ol' mac?

Ho Ho Ho......Chappy Channukah!

Let's stop for a second and look at the X's & O's.

Our players are not prepared to play D1 ball.   Have you seen our offense?  Our players look like they've never seen a 2-3 zone.

Example - Ricmond comes out in a zone and the players look puzzled.  We pass the ball around a couple of times on the perimeter and the result is Bozeman throwing up a bad shot w/ 2 seconds on the shot clock time after time.

How about our out of bounds plays.  I don't think I've ever seen one pass and a basket.  It's always the same pass to half court and then setting up the offense.  This isn't a great example, but it shows his hoops knowledge - high school level.

Richmond put on a clinic of how to play basketball and it was actually fun to watch.  Maybe one day...

Finally, it's not "USF bashing" to recognize that someone is ineffective at doing their job.  I am a season ticket holder and will not accept mediocrity.

OUT

I second that. I cannot count the number of times our players and coaches don't do simple fundamental things (box out, move without the ball, finishing strong to the hoop). At times there are flashes of a Big East team, at other times its a high school team. Right now, it's safe to say that we are average.

Exactly how I saw things except I thought they did a good job posting Mattis.

Maybe it was the fact that Richmond go back so well on defense and forced us into a half court set. Defiantly need work in the half court. Major work....

I am holding judgement right for the lack of personel Mac has right now.

This is sounding like a broken record - same problem as every year with this coach. I know a lot of people were looking to this season as the "make or break" year to judge this guy and his ability to produce tangible results, and one loss definately doesn't make a season.

I support McCullum the same as I supported Pat Julmiste as Bulls QB - I hope for the best, and at the same time recognize that there is probably a better solution around the corner. I guess that's not everyone, though...

I think, despite the injury to Howard and Curry, and the recuperation of Cann, most believe this to be a pivotal year with CRM.  No doubt there have been bad breaks, but truly, sooner or later you just have settle up.

2 choices: support the bball program or don't. All this talk is tiring.

Agreed.
