If the call on the field was in fact incorrect (or even that close), then the replay official should have called for a review immediately after reviewing the play.  Leavitt should not have had to call a timeout.  That TO was so crucial to our offense that we could not afford to expend it with the risk of no review.  Regardless of what you say, we cannot be guaranteed that the play in question would be reviewed if a timeout was called.  In conclusion, this mistake lies at the feet of the replay officials, not CJL. You are correct the reply officials should have reviewed the play. However, sometimes you have to force the hand especially on the road in a very tight game that's why I give KU credit for rushing the offense on the field and snapping the ball. Leavitt is quoted as saying he thought the knee was down and he thought about calling a time out. He is the head coach and has to make those decisions. Bottom line is they lost the game unfortunately, maybe making the split second decision to call the time out late in the forth quarter would have made for a different outcome. I personally think he should have called the time out and taken the chance ... However, I can understand your point also...
