i was in section 210 on saturday, and i had a couple of pitt fans sitting behind me.

That just amazes when opposing fans are seated in major donor areas like that ....

Why?

I have seats in that section.  When I try to sell them to USF fans there is little interest in paying anything near full price...I usually have to let them go in the half price to "free" range.  If I put my tickets on ebay, there are opposing fans willing to pay full face value for the tickets.  It presents an interesting conflict.

Capitalist pig ..... at least make the opposing fans pay more than face value.... and tell them if they yell at someone standing up, they will be escorted out of the stadium.

USF Athletics sells "blocks" of tickets to opposing fans in the donor areas.  Mostly the last few rows of the club seats.

First, if you are standing when its appropriate for the game, then you have every right to complain.  When the stadium scoreboard says "ON YOUR FEET" -- usually on 3rd downs -- that should tell EVERYONE that standing at that point in time is appropriate.  If USF is in the midst of a big play or has just made a big play -- then people should know that standing at that point in time is appropriate.

If USF has the ball on 2nd and 2 from the Bulls' 30.  That is not an appropriate time to be standing.

However, if you feel some kind of entitlement to stand for the entire game, I would point out that you could save a lot of money by finding standing space in the endzones.

Seats are for sitting except when it is game appropriate.  Standing for the entire game is rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful.

Those who do not want to stand should respect your right to stand when it is game appropriate.  Those who want to stand should respect the rights of those who do not when sitting is more appropriate.

Also, despite being 3 rows from the field -- I will be trying to get front row seats next season because I do not want to have to worry about asking people to sit down and getting the dirty looks.  Especially since I sit in the endzone... its not like standing when the opponents have the ball at the other end of the field does any good, anyway.

Those are prime seats but that makes sense. We are in row Z and inquired awhile back about moving up higher but were told they weren't available....

A lot of good common sense in there, Jim. That pretty much sums up the expectation, unless

- as I suspect was the case here - there's someone who, for whatever reason, just absolutely wants to remain in their seat (treating it like a game on TV) every minute.  Which is why we have those Jumbotrons...a quick glance at the replay pretty much shows you what you may have missed in that two-second timeframe.  8-)

sitting in section 210, im obviously not STANDING the entire game.  i completely understand that its not the student section where i normally sit...or stand actually.  however if someone even once tells me to sit down when i see it feasible to stand and holla, then theyre gonna get an earful from me just like the pitt fan did on saturday.  i agree 100% with Wooly that if you wanna watch an entire football game and not expect fans to stand up and cheer, then go to Beef's and watch it there, its a lot cheaper!

You have to stand on 3rd down! Its football law. If you can't stand, sorry sucks for you. But it is a football game, 3rd down and big plays are a must. I used to catch **** in my section (109) but those people moved or just shut up. We are finally gettting people to stand for big plays.

If the players beg for you to get up, then get up **** it. Add some life to the frickin stadium! Pump up your team!

In section 137, we had some idiots who stood the entire game, even when a family behind them with younger kids asked them to sit.  That was on first, second, third, fourth downs, and when the Bulls were on D too.  They were just morons and insisted in being idiots.   They guy, after getting in a shouting/cussing match, told the cops he was an ex NYC police officer.  I don't care who you are, there is such a thing as respect.
