WRs, PK Put In Extra Work

TAMPA - South Florida’s wide receivers and sophomore K Mike Benzer put in some extra time after Wednesday’s practice preparing for Saturday’s contest with Connecticut.

“Mike did pretty good [Wednesday],†USF coach Jim Leavitt said. “He doesn’t want to miss, but he has. The kickers are really important.â€Â

Although Benzer is only 1-for-7 on field goals in his career, Leavitt, who is USF’s specialty team coach, said he doesn’t use a different approach when working with a struggling kicker.

If I were a tailback not on the IR here, I'd be one of those guys out there with the WR's working out.  Without a proven back, there is a golden opportunity for anyone who can step up.

It's past the time to find someone to coach the kickers...Benzer is almost half way into his second year on the team and we can see the results of doing the same old thing over and over...IT HASN'T WORKED.

No matter how many hours a duffer practices the same old thing at the driving range it rarely improves his game when he gets out on the golf course.  If he works with a compentent professional instructor chances are that his game will improve.
