OK, I congratulate SGA on getting the 500 tickets and then going out of their way to get 750 more, that was awesome, especially selling them at 5 dollars a piece, the only thing is, you again forgot to or just didnt set a cap on the number of tickets each person could purchase...Someone bought around 200 tickets today, and all were sold out in less than an hour...There were at least 50 people on both sides of me still waiting in line when they sold out...

This is not a question of ethics... this was not ever meant to be a way of paying for every students ticket either.  The ONLY reason SG bought and sold those tickets was that we wanted to create a want... and need for those tickets.  Without those tickets 1250 students may not have decided to attend the game.  The greeks did nothing wrong.  We ENCOURAGED student organizations, and es that includes greeks, to get togeather and get tickets.  The first plan only allowed student orgs to purchaise the tickets anyway!

Either way... if he found 270 greeks that wanted to go to the game... then so be it.  Thanks to his organizational efforts, he got 250 people to attend the game!  Next time we do this, get a group togeather and buy tickets!

We WOULD have bought more tickets... but we were restricted by several policies/rules... and even UCF I believe.  They now know that students will go.

Individual greeks will get the tickets, they just got smart and got one person to do it for all of them.  ANYONE could have banded togeather and get to the desk early.  I gave everyone on this board the time frame... 1pm to 2 pm.

or they bought them, and plan on selling them for $10 outside the stadium.  Easy $1000.

You know, I really don't care if people have large lists for people they know that can't or aren't standing in line... but what really made me mad was the fact that random people were "cutting" in line and having someone else buy tickets for them. I almost strangled people!

They should have been sold for $10 instead of $5.  You could have sold twice the amount for the same outlay, or spent half as much.  The demand still would have been there.

According to a story in the Oracle today, some in the SG were afraid the demand wouldn't be there for the original 500 tickets.  That is my guess as to why it was 5 bucks.

Knowing there was demand, they should have required a body present with ID card to buy tickets. The lazy bastards who coulnd get to the line could buy the tickets at full price and the students who showed up and got in line would have their cheap tickets.

It's too bad some rich daddy warbucks cant pony up tickets for every student that wants to attend the game......Although I dont want to see that much money go to the nagits.

It was so low becuase we just wanted people to feel like they own it... otherwise we would have given them away.

The guy that was "afraid" was a comptroller... they deal with our funding... and work for Admin Services... not the exec, senate, etc.  He took examples from last year... when they asked for funds for the "greek concert."  Which isn't happening this year

Does this mean we are the Sam's Club of rivalries?

Some of us actually have to go to class once in a while.  I am not defending someone who camps out and buys an assload of tickets (as I seriously doubt that he had individually communicated with each person whose U-number he had), but perhaps giving one person four or five U-numbers to buy tickets for their immediate travelling group is easier and more efficient.
