O'Leary: UCF to sell 32-35k season tickets

O'Leary apparently thinks the new stadium will more than double season ticket holders.  That could develop into one hell of a buyers remorse class action lawsuit.

They open next year, so I'm sure the 32,000 will be for 2007.  In 2006 they'll still be in the Citrus Bowl, so I'm sure the season tickets will be around the 15,000 mark.

This does demonstrate what happens when you go from an over-supply situation to a constricted-supply one.

DW knows this formula and this is why he wants a 45K OCS as soon as the rest of the athletic faclilties are completed.

Actually, I was there.  He said we will sell 32-35k NEXT year.  It will be done, so if you want to be a part of those with season tickets next year, you have to get them now.  

UCF has already had 15k tickets next year put on hold.  If you by tickets this year, you have the option of buying the same quantity next season as well as part of a two season ticket purchase plan.  If 15k is already sold and/or put on hold already, 32-35k is a reachable number...

I think that is a lofty number to more than double the season ticket base.

While it's not season tickets, but I expect many more students to come to games and those sections might even sell out(which would require either being early or purchasing).

So let me get this straight. You guys are expecting 35,000 season tickets to be sold. You guys are also opening a new 45,000 seat stadium. That's 78% to season tickets. So that means either 2 things. 1) Turning away fans from games 2) expanding the stadium. Either way I think that would be a loss for UCF.
