Woolard & OCS

Recommended Posts

At this point, there are so many event options in the Tampa-St. Pete area, that I'm not sure what revenue could be counted on.  Think about it, there are the three major pro sports arenas, then there's the SunDome and the Ford Amphitheater at the Fairgrounds.  A sixth event site just further increases supply.

You're forgetting that there are also four large baseball stadiums: Legend's Field (Tampa), Al Lang Field (St Pete), BrightHouse Networks Field (Clearwater), and Knology Park (Dunedin).  Not to mention the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Tampa Convention Center.

Lot's of places for concerts and other large (5000+) events.

How many are 40,000+? I know Turkeysoup was kidding but the Superbowl of Motorsports and other events like it would be a pefect events for us to host at OCS.  I guarantee that our fans are not the only ones that take issue with the terms of their lease with tax payer stadium and that there are events that would be more than happy to explore other options. Tampa is a large area with plenty of events, I do not understand why anyone would question that we would get a share of them.

I will be truly grateful for the start of football season.

We've now stooped to the level of discussing revenue streams for non-existant events to be held in our imaginary stadium at some undisclosed time in the near or not-so-near future.

By realizing a level of sales that's capable of sustaining a debt load necessary to allow us to build.  This will necessitate a move because we'll be giving away to much revenue at RayJay versus keeping it in our own cofers.  Clearly selling 17k season tickets doesn't necessitate, but if we're selling 25K of season tickets, and averaging attendance in the mid-40's, will make it blatantly obvious that a move is necessary.  You make the move because you want the added revenue that otherwise would go to TSA, and the Glasers.

That's necessary also because it's additional income into our pockets that will help fund more opportunities at USF.

I understand completely what you're saying and I guess we have different views on what "necessity" means. I clearly see where an OCS would be a lot more advantageous to us when we reach a certain season tix level than it is now but I wouldn't deem it a "necessity" even at that point ..... Just a different way of looking at things, I guess.

The OCS becomes a necessity when Bulls consistantly fill the RayJay and there is a waiting list for seasons tickets  :D

If there were a waiting list for season tickets, we would have waited too long....

IMO, it's better to have waiting list than it is to have empty seats.

If there's a waiting list, then the revenue streams are pretty much guaranteed instead of estimated.

if we have a waiting list for season tickets meaning that rjs is filled, we would need a pretty big stadium to accomodate all those people
