Guest
At this point, there are so many event options in the Tampa-St. Pete area, that I'm not sure what revenue could be counted on. Think about it, there are the three major pro sports arenas, then there's the SunDome and the Ford Amphitheater at the Fairgrounds. A sixth event site just further increases supply. You're forgetting that there are also four large baseball stadiums: Legend's Field (Tampa), Al Lang Field (St Pete), BrightHouse Networks Field (Clearwater), and Knology Park (Dunedin). Not to mention the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Tampa Convention Center.Lot's of places for concerts and other large (5000+) events. I know Turkeysoup was kidding but the Superbowl of Motorsports and other events like it would be a pefect events for us to host at OCS. I guarantee that our fans are not the only ones that take issue with the terms of their lease with tax payer stadium and that there are events that would be more than happy to explore other options. Tampa is a large area with plenty of events, I do not understand why anyone would question that we would get a share of them. We've now stooped to the level of discussing revenue streams for non-existant events to be held in our imaginary stadium at some undisclosed time in the near or not-so-near future. I clearly see where an OCS would be a lot more advantageous to us when we reach a certain season tix level than it is now but I wouldn't deem it a "necessity" even at that point ..... Just a different way of looking at things, I guess.
