That is not what would make USF become one of the Big Four. Going to a BCS game would be one step toward the Big Four. Beating one of the Big 3 would be a major step toward that. We can do both with RJS.

An OCS has nothing to do with becoming one of the big four.  To become one of the "Big Four" we will have to win a national championship.  An OCS will provide a more traditional atmosphere though.

Build it and they will come.    Win and they may build it.

Hey what do I know, I thought the 'O' in OCS meant on, not own.   ;)

In UM's case it stands for Own Crappy Stadium ....

Thats B.S.

UF & FSU were in the big 3 before winning a national title

we would need to win some BE titles....hence get to BCS games and beat 2 of the big 3...IMO....and be consistently ranked top 15 nationally....w have a while to go but we are headed in the right direction.

I realize this is something we all want down the line but how, exactly will ticket sales make an OCS a necessity?

By realizing a level of sales that's capable of sustaining a debt load necessary to allow us to build.  This will necessitate a move because we'll be giving away to much revenue at RayJay versus keeping it in our own cofers.  Clearly selling 17k season tickets doesn't necessitate, but if we're selling 25K of season tickets, and averaging attendance in the mid-40's, will make it blatantly obvious that a move is necessary.  You make the move because you want the added revenue that otherwise would go to TSA, and the Glasers.

That's necessary also because it's additional income into our pockets that will help fund more opportunities at USF.

That and we would be able to host other events that would also prefer to opt out of the Glazer revenue sharing.

OCS is something that will come when all things are in place.  I do hope for all that respond on Bullspen have their own season tickets and put their money where their mouths are!

well just south of those fields is going to be a pond. why don't we hold off on building it and put the stadium there. to me it just seems there are a lot of things that could be moved in order to put the stadium on campus.

There is a watershed that runs through the USF campus from the northeast to the southwest, a small body of water in that area is a necessity.

At this point, there are so many event options in the Tampa-St. Pete area, that I'm not sure what revenue could be counted on.  Think about it, there are the three major pro sports arenas, then there's the SunDome and the Ford Amphitheater at the Fairgrounds.  A sixth event site just further increases supply.
