I was at a USF baseball game in Lousiville in the late '90s.  We have better little league parks than they were playing in, yet he turned around a perininial loser and made them respectable.

He is a winner (2 nc at UT), well thought of in BIG $$$ circles and a homeboy.  He would be a great hire for several reasons:

Immediate stability

Good $$ chaser for facilities

If he wins big, he won't bolt easily

If he doesn't, when he is canned in 5 years he'll have gotten the facilities

We truly love those kind of guys, we should have gotten a baseball coach from the MAC conference, atleast we would be following tradition.

Where was this flaming when we hired Mac who was under 500 and remains there.  I think you guys that don't listen have already been told how tough it is up north to field a good baseball team and UL had third world failities.  This is a good hire.  We should dominate BE baseball and with Prado we will.  Afterall, how many southern BE teams are there ?

Here's a quick view of UL's new Baseball Stadium that just opened last year I think.

Guys, it's still early in the process.  Right now he's the leading candidate (according to the newspaper), but who is he leading against?  Does anyone know who else has been interviewed?  Urso, Shouppe, O' Sullivan, etc., may come out of their interview as the leading candidate.  I trust DW will do the right thing.

No.  MAC turned around a very poor Western Michigan team in 2-3 years.  That is good coaching and good recruiting.

Look at this guys record since 1996.  He made an initial jump but has stagnated since 2001.  He is not a winner and won't be one here either.  He has reached his potential at Louisville and can be considered an average hire.  We will not be better than we were under EC.  Don't give me the up north argument.  It is lame.  A winner wins and an average coach wins sometimes and loses others.  That is what this guy is.  I agree with Smazza.  booooooooo!

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
