No offense guys... its about the game... not the pre-game festivities...

You clearly don't know how hard it is to plan out a Homecoming event, we plan the spring before, all of summer and in the fall its crazy making sure everything is ready  It SUCKS when that all has to change because of something.

When I did it Homecoming was perfect...except for us losing to Army... >:(

I'm happy that the committee will be able to plan in advanced now.  Last year everyone went crazy with Wilma coming out of no where.

I'll be at this game for sure---but I hope that its not a noon game, that sun last year was killing me, bah!

My take on this is that we are a GROWING program.  We have become spoiled with nice, cool night games and all day tailgating.  I think we have to remember that we are a GROWING program and put the program's needs before ours.  We need to support the program's decisions and show up when they play.  If you are a season ticket holder and your kid has a game that day, let's say out of X-number of games, it's up to you to make that decision.  Do I miss one game and let the spouse attend it and I go to the USF game or do I miss it?  If is it a one-time event, then you support your kid because you have already given your money to USF and supported the program.

These are decisions we have to make and as our program grows, as will our fan base.  Especially those that went to school with football as the main sport, not basketball.  We are very YOUNG.  We have to remember that.  We need to support every time we get TV appearances.  Does it suck to see mroe empty seats than filled on national or regional TV, sure.  But obvioulsy the networks don't care or they wouldn't keep putting us on TV.  We already have 3 games and could have more depending on how the season progresses.

start teaching the kids a lesson... pull them out of whatever sport they are playing and take them to the game

Life lesson #17

College football is more important than ANY kids sport

I remember my dad painfully rushing home after my saturday sports to make the Gator games. I feel for those who have kids as I will have some one day and have to deal with the same problems.

The game has been confirmed as noon on the Pitt schedule.

Your loss if you don't show.

When your team gets handled the way it was last year all you are left to talk about are attendance figures.

for out of towners a noon game limits who can attend

the option to fly in sat. for a 7 pm game is out esp if you have kids.

for an out of towner with kids purchase 6 season tix, for six 7pm games.

first work schedules knocks out 2 games, then d1AA knocks out  1 game,

if week days and noon starts knock out 2 games,

that leaves only 1 game per year you can use the season tix

not a great bargin for the out of towner (or his wife)

not a great bargin for Tampa (hotel, car rental, restuarants, shopping)

not a great deal for usf in the end.

so...usf is young and needs to take all these factors in consideration when moving games around.

Either go to the game or don't go to the game.  But don't whine about game times.  Every other school goes through this.  Remember back in the early 80s, the Noles played almost every one of their home games at night.  Look at them now, they rarely play a home game at night.  Television contracts and Conference Membership totally changed how they handle home games.  USF will be in the same boat people.  History does repeat itself, just look north to Tallahassee.......

I certainly can see your point of view. I think it's a bit tough to say a game was moved around when it didn't have a time set. I know we have been accustomed to 7pm Saturday kickoffs, but I think we have all known that daytime kickoffs would occur once we moved into a conference.

One good advantage of a daytime kickoff is the fact that it is still light outside for post game tailgating.
