good for them... that is not the norm... they are the exception, not the rule.

There are plenty of teams with as many injuries as us- We just do not have the depth.

velcro and Joe,

The point is that USF is not a Duke or UF in terms of basketball. When USF loses key players to injuries, it really hurts us the most because we dont have the depth or talent like UF or Duke have. I hardly believe UF or Duke would be struggling as much as USF if they had some injured players. Hell, Duke basically has so many **** McDonald All Americans. Some of those players are waiting their turn on the bench. Ingram at UF is a heck of a basketball player, but he couldnt crack the line up at UF. Once USF stocks up with BIG EAST players then the wins will start to come. Fans that were expecting USF to just show up in the BIG EAST and beat teams are basically clueless. If McCullum does not get the results next season then it will be time to start looking another way. In the mean time, the USF fans need to support this program.

BB2k... I'm already on that side of the arguement... not sure why you included me there.

Duke would struggle with injuries, compared to what they are expected to do.  If they were injury plagued, they'd be ousted early in the tournament.

Our expectations are lower until we get there consistently, but injuries will always cause problems for a team that is trying to climb up out of a rebuilding process.

velcro,

I know you are on the best side of the argument. I was just trying to point out that Duke would still be a very good team if they lost some players to injury. Programs like UCONN and Duke are very deep with talent, so they just keep reloading those players. USF does not have that option. The good news is that there are some players waiting to play next season. We just need to stay healthy and have some luck for once. It is about time that the basketball team gets some good luck.

The reason we don't have the talented players to still be competetive in the face of injuries is because RMC can't recruit.  No matter how you slice this it is RMC's fault.  He is not a BE calibre HC.

And anyone who thinks teams aren't emptying their benches against us is crazy.  G'town played a completely differnt rotation against Duke than they did us.  Wake up.

total BS.

The depth problem is Mac's fault, but the quality of his recruits are getting better and better and he is finding players that fit our system and are proving to be very good.

Georgetown played different vs us than Duke because they had to... Duke is a different team... coaches change their system if they see a weakness in a team... and our weakness was our depth.  If they -played the same system vs us as duke, I would question Thompson.

Wake up!

Agreed. No matter how you slice it, BE teams are testing their benches against USF. Anybody that doesn't see this is in denial, or not paying attention.

Our guys are playing hard, that's obvious. So what? All that matters in the end is a W or a L. To pretend otherwise is foolish. You don't accept bad losses with our football team, so why is it different with the bb team? Wasn't P. Julmiste playing hard too? It's not acceptable that he sucked, or that R. Smith sucked, so why is it okay for the BB team to suck?

I think it has something to do with the fans. Most of you don't really care as much about BB as you do football, so you're okay with USF being awful. It's the status quo.

And you pounce on Beastie, Smazza, Sherriff and the rest of the realists on the board for bringing to your attention how bad the bb team is. Seems ridiculous, dead horse or not.

Wake up fellas, this team can't win a game in the BE,

Rueben

You guys are idiots.  Do you really believe what you are saying???  Do you think that Georgetown is going to "test their bench" to the point of only losing to us by 3 points?  Your nuts.  I guarantee you once the game was close they would go back to their normal lineup and crush us into the grounds.  IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.  Why?  Because we are competetive.  Get over it.

Syracuse may have "tested" the bench when they were up 25... No other team has done that.  Try watching the games before you make those type of comments.  If you watched them, you would know that isn't true.
