Ugly game, but got the win.  UTSA probably offered the most physical game of the year.  More to follow.

I thought it funny they called that jersey pull a flagrant (rightfully so) because they were doing that the entire game.

It was physical, not our best work offensively and we were on the road.   That usually spells doom.  So happy to see us persevere.

I’d like to know too.

Boom! I was yelling watching those jersey pulls the entire game with no whistle. I know I can be biased at times in favor of our Bulls but they were stretching the heck out of those shirts.

So yeah that was a fitting call in the end.

I thought the defense was great almost the entire time. This game was close because we missed our shots.

Just looking at 3 pointers:

As a team, we shot 17.4% (4-23)

2-7 Youngblood
1-5 Miguel
1-2 Knox
0-2 Stroud
0-2 Placer
0-2 Pryor
0-2 Reid
0-1 Hines

Yup, we were flat as a pancake. It is SO fortunate that we played a poor team or we would have gotten crushed. Let's hope lesson learned about endurance and always bringing your A game. But true, our dmD kept us close enough. This scare should knock any "big heads" back down to size just in time for SMU. Glad they also are going to get worn out a bit before they play us.

Of course we scored something like 20 of our first 26 points in the paint.

We ran into trouble when they took the paint away and said, "yeah, shoot some threes"

:roflmao:

As it turned out, we still couldn't make threes and then started forcing 1 on1s in the paint, missing many of those too...

Wasn’t being that literal, just expecting that they would decide to find other ways to score and maybe finally get into the bonus - which they did only in the final minute down the stretch.

UTSA can play defense and be physical...it's not an outcome of magic or fate that off nights just happen. If were that simple and random, we wouldn't need practice.  i.e., every single hold or jersey grab disrupted timing on those perimeter patterns.

you are looking at one game. BTW we dominated them in the paint 36-16 (unlike every other game) and we barely won.

we are shooting 36% from 3 for the year.

that and our defense (in particular our 3 point defense) is why we are winning.

it's inevitable to have an off night shooting.

look at the analytics and you would understand how the game is played today.

Yeah it was hard to believe in the second half it was something like 8-1 in fouls, USF leading.
