I can still remember Jose bemoaning the NET in the Hardwood Club when they were ready to transition to it. He said that this will ruin the game and favor the power leagues. Looks like he was spot on.

EVERYTHING favors the money . . . er, power leagues.

It most certainly does, which is unfortunate.

How good must it be to be the athletic administration at Vandy or Northwestern or Rutgers, etc. and do little to nothing to earn it but still benefit from gobs of cash every year?

Believe it was Mark Cuban on Shark Tank who I heard this from -

"Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered"

Whatever this consolidation/breakaway/semi-pro league develops into, will certainly be a less attractive situation than what we have now.

That is an old school saying that stock brokers would tell you when they wanted you to sell a stock and buy something else so that they could make the commissions.

I don't think you must be drunk but not seeing ours as a better conference without UH and Cincy doesn't make sense. I think the AAC will get stronger than it is now and may get there but certainly isn't now.

I'm not saying better, just not a huge decrease either, its not as big as a drop off as people want to make of it.  If we had kept those teams we would be a 3-4 bid leauge.  My bigger gripe is the metric NET is garbage.

I can kinda agree with that. What's skewing the perception is that Houston is kicking ass in a much much harder conference.

I know we’re all pointing at the Big Dance, but if we don’t finish strong and/or win the AAC tournament, how are we feeling if we don’t make the NIT - which is a distinct possibility with our ranking? This team not playing in EITHER of those tournaments would be an absolute crime.

That would be awful. I think we likely sneak into the NIT, but likely no home game. The new selection process for the NIT is complete BS.

That is a huge understatement ..... plus, I didn't know that they're not at MSG any longer for their final four.
