Renderings coming Tuesday!

We can expect the recruits to rave over the OCS renderings. Looking forward to fall of 2024 when the OCS ground breaking takes place on best OCS in Florida by far…

Pushing the opening back a year potentially means Brown never gets an opportunity to play in the OCS. Tragic… he would be a senior in 2026 - by his senior year, we should be a powerhouse where the lure of the stadium would only help our visibility.

There are several buildings / upgrades in that total $340 million besides the stadium.  This is still preliminary.  Who knows, maybe some rich donor who wants shade and a concrete base will chip in more money.

Remember the $340M is everything else, not just a stadium.

LED technology is much better than it was in the past, so there are ways to compensate for the sunlight shining onto it.  I've seen LED billboards along I75 that have the sun facing them and there's very little distortion.

Now that I got to sleep on it, I woke up with a bit of a different take that I had yesterday.

We just got bad news dumped on us (our stadium is delayed for a year), and they put together 3 or 4 pretty pictures of what a stadium might look like at night to show us so that we'd have something shiny to be excited about.  If you really think about it, we aren't any closer to "renderings" than we were before this meeting.  True renderings would be much more detailed views of every angle of the stadium.  There would be computer-simulated flyover and walk-up animations, etc.  We just got a couple of pics to keep us hooked.

Don't get me wrong--I'm very happy this project is happening, and I was happy to see a schedule with dates on it for upcoming milestones.   Also thankful for the Champions Way design and donation.  But other than that, it seems like the "one year delay" is the most concrete thing that came out of the meeting. 

I can wait another year, but please no more delays.
