Does USF need a live mascot?

BTW, I got that from an article on the mascot the USF site.

Crazy to think we would have been the buccaneers, but someone thought "a new 4-year college in Pensacola were the buccaneers."  I do not know the whole History of Pensacola Junior College, but it wasn't until circa 2010 that they became Pensacola State College, offering 4-year degrees.  They are the Pirates, I believe.

At one time, the Hernando County Alumni Assoc. met at a Beef O'Brady's in Brooksville for watch parties.  Behind the restaurant, there was a pasture and a young Brahman bull.  I was told that this was the mascot being raised for the USF football program.  He would have done great but I never saw him again toward the end of the season. 

On an unrelated note, our linemen looked bigger later in that season.

So, what if we do something like this at halftime. Make it some sort of contest to participate, and then, at halftime, the show is all yours. Gotta make our live mascot stand out...

While we were playing in the big sombrero our first couple years, there was a live Bull in a steel pen in the North side of stadium parking lot. I used to park next to the pen. I don't remember how many games he was brought out to. I would imagine we could do a similar thing with new stadium. Just keep it out of stadium in parking lot. That is what Memphis does with their live Tiger.
