I don't see this as going "Too Far" as the thread title asks.

We lost a 2 time All American player, so it should be newsworthy about how he is doing on his new team in year 1.

Ill start this by saying i don't care either way about TBT and what they write. However....

And how is he doing? The season hasn't started... who the F cares. Outside if his family, no one gives a ****. Write it when he has actually done something maybe.

I like knowing how former Bulls are doing, but I can find that on a Google search or twitter.

I saw @Jim Johnson asking who from the Tampa paper was covering the AAC Media Days and I am not sure I ever saw an answer come forward.

I look at it as being incredibly tone deaf at best.

"Hey USF fans want to know how the girl who dumped you is doing while you all are still at rock bottom?"

Sure a "follow-up story" technically qualifies as news and sure maybe some USF fans will find it of interest; but if we're being honest and think of this in terms of a venn diagram, the crossover of USF fans put off by this article (rubbing salt in the wound) is going to be far greater than the number of USF fans interested in how Battie is doing.

And if you make the call to still go with the story, it's like I said: tone deaf at best or poking the fanbase at worst.

Certainly agree that there is a degree of being tone deaf with it.

Only if they ever wrote about him while he was here. I have no idea if they did or not but would seem a bit strange if they wrote about him at the new team and never while here.

Was Baker there? I don't follow him on twitter, so I wouldn't know.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
