Now you know why we are against going  independent. We will be fine

The rules then were completely different and it helped bring about rules changes regarding necessary wins needing to be considered before being able to move on to programs with losing records, and there are a lot more bowl games. If the reward for playing most of your games against teams no one on earth cares about is getting to play the Zips in a bowl game I think we are better off taking our chances on finding some games every year that have some interest. The aac limits are possibilities and worse yet has us self identified as being on par with teams no one wants to identify with at all.

With all that said, USF will lose tons of money by going independent. USF will miss out on the perks of being in a conference. The money, connections, and comraderie is what makes being in a conference great.

Although it's not really a debate when one side doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of happening, it's the off season and some are bored ..... and some want to make sure that if anybody just pops in to check us out, they'll see that the board as a whole isn't beholding to the nonsensically stupid idea of USF going Independent.

Not sure comraderies with the current group of teams is a big selling point compared to the big east or the old rivals moving into the big 12. All we can do is win.

Old rivalries? Like the old rivalries with Southern Miss, UAB, Troy St, Georgia Southern, WKU, Hofstra, James Madison, Liberty.

Outside of Hofstra all of them have had a better last 5 years. We are just conference usa 2.0 rebranded as aac.

I can live with that. Like I said I was a proud defender of C-USA while USF was part of that conference. They had a C-USA board which had tons of fans. Fun times. No shame at all being a part of C-USA 2.0
