If Mike Brey was our coach 10 years ago we would be set.  2023 Mike Brey is not someone I want.  Mike Brey's last 6 years...101-93, 46-68 in conference.  Great guy but this would most likely not end well.

What would sweeten the deal even more for me, if its Brey, is if he can get one or two of his better players to come with him to USF through the transfer portal.  Either way, if he is hired, I think it will be as good of a hire as we could have expected based on our current situation.

We don't have a crystal ball telling us who the next "Mike Brey" would be if they came here so this is worth a shot. It may not end well but there's no guaranty that anyone coming in will end well ..... hopefully the twilight of his career will mirror Larranaga's.

This is the best possible hire for us, we weren’t going to get a better coach then this. Dusty may is not coming here, he is either going to a power5 school or staying at Fau with all his starters coming back next year.Brey resume destroys Dusty May’s unless he wins it all this year. 

This is probably the best coach USF has ever hired if you compare his head coaching resume to others.

He just took Norte dame to the tournament last year.
