Has a team ever been more over-scheduled?

Softball shut out by #5 Clemson last night and #9 Tennessee tonight. Whoever put together their non-conference schedule was not realistic about his team’s potential.  🙂
Michigan, BC, UF, Duke, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, Miss. State, etc. - all top 25 caliber. Scored 12 total runs in those nine games. Scheduling a couple is fine, but time to stick mostly to the Stetsons and FGCUs.

I am not yet a big softball guy, but we’ve been very good.  Like baseball, opening with Maryland & Florida, I can appreciate opening with big time opponents. Good for players and coaches.  A couple top teams at least, not a lengthy murderer’s row though.

I completely agree, but this year’s schedule was a big reach. Can only hope that they are so tested that the conference games are a walk in the park - but I doubt it.

I don’t think they are as good this year and they definitely over scheduled. Need to find that next Corrick and recruit some hitters

Someone who knows more than us can maybe help answer this, but I remember Emma Humplik being a viral sensation when we signed her and a video of her destroying pitch after pitch at a workout (yes, they were meatballs she was swinging at) caught eyes around the country. She played very little as a freshman and only has 12 at bats so far this year (with 4 hits which would put her as the No. 2 batting avg. on the team).

They beat Michigan State today, load of Freshmen on the team, great experience against the high caliber teams, Not concerned, Erickson will have them back in the tourney this, maybe not this yr but def next. i wish our baseball team had 1/2 as much success.

Just a bit to add to this, football doesn’t get a bye until the last weekend in October. So, 8 n 0 here we go.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
