  1. I am extremely impressed with golesh. He has broken into IMG academy. For our entire history, we have had a connection of the best high school players in the country in our own backyard but couldn't snag any of them. If he can build an IMG to USF pipeline... watch out. I'm just worried that if he has a really good year this year though that he's gone.
  2. We're competing directly with UF, FSU, Miami, and UCF. Also competing with Tampa pro teams. Need to be playing more meaningful games than those clubs.
  3. Am I the only one pumped about this! I have been waiting for this forever! Let's build it, create an environment where we have to expand it in a few years and kick some butt in it!
  4. Our former homecoming creampuff opponent. We meet again!
  5. Top team in the AAC loses their head coach. I think we're going to see that consistently going forward. We need to find more money quickly or it will be a perpetual cycle of going through coaches until we find a bad one we are stuck with and having to rebuild from the ground up over and over.
  6. I have equal feelings for all the teams in this conference. I don't care about any of them. I don't dislike them. I just don't care.
  7. This basketball program is a dumpster fire... besides a few good seasons, it always has been. Schools with a tenth of the resources seem to roll us with regularity.
  8. I have legit never heard of south Alabama. I'm not being facetious. Staying in Tampa would be cool though.
  9. It doesn't matter who we play in the bowl this year. It will be fun if it's close by and fans can attend. Alabama and Miami next year are our opportunities to make a statement and a name for ourselves. Hopefully the defense will be better.
  10. I actually used my tickets, drove the 8 hours, and was in attendance for this game. I got a call from somebody I know in athletics and he reassured me that usf has a plan to be in the upper echelons of college football in the up coming years apparently they are not content with being a novelty product and still committed to competing at the highest level. I still want to see concrete plans, but it's reassuring that we aren't content with the status quo. It was a good game. Glad to be back to a bowl.
  11. Booo, that would really stink for fans wanting to go.
  12. Well we have about a 104 million dollar gap per year to get to where we want to be. How are we getting there?
  13. Nobody but immediate family and a few die hards care about football in this league. It's like minor league baseball with more expensive tickets and more expensive beer and hot dogs...
  14. I agree, the Jim's time has come and gone. I just miss those days of hundreds of Bulls fans storming opponents facebook pages and message boards. Grothe trucking a UCF linebacker to get into the endzone and spiking the ball in their face. Seemed like we were on our way to something special and weren't afraid of anybody. We had that come and get it mentality. I can't wait to go into the swamp next with that mentality ready to stomp them.
  15. I was on South Carolina's campus this weekend and they burned a giant tiger in effigy on campus. It was a fun time! I can't wait until USF does something like this.
  16. Not that i support it, but I saw Saban hit a kid on national TV.... announcers called him a good old fashioned coach.
  17. Words to live by. Become the best at what you do through hard work, be smart, and avoid the traps. Lol. I think a plan with goals and measurable is extremely important though in any business venture. That's the only way to truly know if you are making progress. Nobody would invest in a company that just said we're happy to be listed on the exchange without a plan to eventually compete with the industry leaders. The fans, donors, staff, and students all put in a lot of work over the past 20 years but I don't think we ever had a clear vision of what we want to be or how to get there.
  18. The DB's are atrocious. I don't think any DC could do much with that. They fall down, they get burned, they commit pass interference almost every play, they take horrid angles on pursuit, they can't tackle, they eat ketchup on their pizza, and they all think that avatar is the greatest movie ever made.
  19. Really no sense for USF to be investing the way they are otherwise. I think that's the big disconnect between the fans that are asking why we are building the ocs or keeping the program going etc. If you don't think it's possible to compete with the industry leaders or win a natty, why invest so heavy? Obviously USF still thinks it's possible. If they didn't, I think the conversation about disbanding the program is within reason. With that said, if we do plan on competing for a natty, what's that going to take?
  20. I guess I just don't understand that mentality. A conference championship would be nice as a stepping stone to bigger things, but why would you ever accept that we won't win a natty? That's kind of a defeatist mentality... why not!? USF is one of the largest schools in the nation in the biggest recruiting hot bed in the country. Even our coach mentioned a natty. I like going to minor league baseball games occasionally as a novelty and something to do, but almost nobody cares who wins the single A baseball championship. I sure as heck wouldn't invest serious cash into a minor league team. USF needs investors and the vision has to include how to compete with the industry leaders.
  21. That's fair enough and I understand that point of view. Some people just like rowing for the sake of rowing. That's valid. There are 5-10k within our program with that mentality. The program is probably going to be stuck at that though and losing money unless we have a plan to compete for the #1 spot even if that is a decade or so in the future.
  22. Will USF let us know if we are in talks of leaving or not? I'm assuming that our strategic plans are based on being in the American long term?
  23. That's what I'm worried about and I'm saving my time and money commitments until I see a way forward to becoming the premier program in the state. If there is a plan to do that in this conference, I will help. Things are just too speculative at this point to invest serious money. I like both of the podcasts. I'm not a sports better, because I try not to be stupid with money, so I don't like the weekly betting pod that the stampede has been producing. I liked their film break down episodes. Carrying cord is really funny and gives me a lot of laughs. They are both solid and the best news/ takes that we have at the moment. I recommend both.
  24. That's speculative though. There is no guarantee that we are getting called up. Assuming we are in the American forever, what will it take to provide the finances to become the premier program in the state of Florida and be able to beat out UF and FSU financially and in terms of NIL?
  25. Thank you for sharing this. All of these are great steps to take. I don't see anything in there about overtaking the state leaders though. How do we do that financially? What will that take? At what point do we out recruit the industry leaders in the country and provide the top product? For instance, if we grow our donar base by 10 million a year, can we overtake the competition?
