Dulcy came out fired up on the boards in the 2nd half. Know CJF wasn't happy with her rebounding effort last game. First half he was beside himself. She got the message at halftime.

I think this was a career high for Sammie.

USF owns the 3rd quarter. Now, the second quarter is another story!

Her dad is both her biggest fan and critic. Talked to him at length on the NC trip. He and all 3 of his kids played college ball. Imagine the pick up games in that house were awesome.

Part of it is the bench or lack thereof.  But it just seems like shots don't go in. Crazy stuff. Speaking of the bench, I checked the box score and 0 points from them.

They can get away with it in AAC play because of the Big 3, but they are going to be exhausted come tourney time and we will need some sort of bench contribution to avoid a 1st or 2nd round loss. Pretty meaningless minutes from the bench last night. No points and 3 rebounds in 20+ combined minutes....ooof.

Poor bench performance for sure. I'm not sure #20 had a stat, but she hustled and played good defense.

Alvarez was a turnstile on defense.

Still not ranked in AP Top 25, but receiving the most votes we have gotten all season.

25 13-5 62

Others receiving votes: Baylor 51, Middle Tennessee 39, Arkansas 34, South Florida 24, Miami 23, Florida State 23, Tennessee 19, USC 7, Creighton 4, Louisville 4, Kansas 3, West Virginia 2

Previous Total Votes Received By Week:
Preseason: 3
Week 2: 4
Week 3: 5
Week 4: 0
Week 5: 12
Week 6: 0
Week 7: 0
Week 8: 7
Week 9: 7
Week 10: 6
This Week: 24

Next 5 Upcoming Games:
at Houston (6-11)
UCF (10-6)
at Tulsa (14-3) <-- *Must Win*
at Memphis (10-8)
ECU (12-6)

After this next 5 game stretch, we may be 21-4. Sadly, I think it'll require being 20/21-4 before we crack the Top 25. A solid win over Tulsa on the road may be enough at 19-4. We'll see. I'm surprised we haven't made it yet. USF women have been a perennial winner and with the exception of a 22 pt loss to a ranked Villanova team, our only losses were close and all against ranked opponents. We have wins over Texas and Arkansas who were ranked #22 and #17, respectively. USF is 10-0 at home.

Current Ranking of USF's Losses:
Villanova #22 by 22 pts (Neutral)
Michigan #14 by 5 pts (Neutral)
NC State #20 by 8 pts (Road)
Ohio State #2 by 2 pts in OT (Neutral)

Current Ranking of USF's Ranked Wins:
Texas #25 by 5 pts (Road)
Arkansas Receiving Votes (34) in OT by 1 pt (Neutral)

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
