There are 5k athletes in the portal.

Clemsons QB. BIG name starters for big programs. It's not just us.

We will be fine.

If you don't want to be here, pack your ****. Zero time for drama queens. Look at Tulane. How many drama queens left before they kicked USCs ass in a big bowl game. How's that working out for them.

Tired of the jawing on Twitter. If you wanna go, go.

Yes, I'd rather all those guys stay Bulls and help us turn it around. I get that, but I think we have to look beyond the 2023 season and I can't get too worked up about anyone leaving the program. With what college football has now become, it's the norm. You just have to move on and not look back. The kids aren't. It's their new normal. None of this is good for the game, but nobody that makes a difference seems to see that or care enough to do anything about it. I'll always root for whoever is wearing the Green & Gold, but we have to understand that the fans come last in every scenario - especially the fans that aren't rooting for about 20-25 schools that hold all the power. It started when they began scheduling weeknight games or noon home games in August and September in Florida. Then it was paying coaches ridiculous money. Now it's watching athletes (not student-athletes) playing for 3-4 schools. It's not our game. We're just part of the demographic studies that ESPN, et al do to decide how to make the most $.

These are the lives of other HUMAN beings. Sorry if giving players more benefits hurts your "entertainment".

You’re a hoot. I’m perfectly fine with more “benefits” outside of a free education, housing, food, clothing, but turning college athletes into free agents annually is not good for college football. At some point there will be blowback from what is happening now. Count on it.

Which is why free education, housing, food, clothing, etc should be a thing of the past.   If you want to have all these "benefits" then pay for your own education.

We are pretty much in a full rebuild from ground zero until we can find a coach that wins and creates some stability that makes players want to stay and play here. WE have a few really good pieces, a few solid starters, a lot of inexperienced or unproven players, and a lot of unknowns from the players and coaches. I am pretty sure our last head coach was the worst coach in FBS football and anything should be an upgrade in theory.

So the people we lose to the portal are drama queens but the more people we pick up from the portal are simply misunderstood people in bad situations with ever changing coaches that want to pick their coach instead of randomly having one appointed to them?

I think the portal can be used to fill  some holes on the team and bring in talent better than your current starters or back up, but what is one team's problem could also be the new team's problem as well. You still need established talent and systems to be in place for transfers to improve your team. It seems a lot of the transfers at USF have not worked out recently...
