Big sweet 16 game against Delta State next week. UWF's only loss of the year was to DSU in 2OT. Both come into the game with top 10 rankings. Should be a good game, you should check it out.

I thought Delta State sounded familiar, may have to check it out ...... but Pan does have a good question.

Might as well kick the tires on Pete Shinnick, then. Started two programs, won a national championship. Has won on multiple levels.

So then also has ties to Florida. That sounds like a great choice. Someone tell MK 😂

Where are the Ds ranked?

Both are pretty middle of the pack for D2. Shinnick has been an offense guy for his entire career.

I woule very much prefer if the next coach was NOT a sleeper. Leavitt never slept. The rest slept soundly and often. Would prefer a machine. Work ethic even I would envy. Too few have it these days, especially because they all know they're gonna get paid whether they win or lose.

I like the thought. Remains to be seen if VPMK wants a true football coach who wants to win the games on the field, or a guy who is going to be a fundraising partner (not like you have a Bulls Club staff for that)

the best fund raising will happen when we win

We used to have to get out of shoebox in the middle of the night and lick the road clean with our tongues.

Kind of ironic our best fund raising to date has happened when we sucked. Bodes well for the future …..

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
