What happened to our run game? We need it back to control the clock better.

As much as I’m not enthused about our staff, we have improved from last year. I think I’m annoyed by the little things (catching, tackling, coaching,  etc..) that plague us throughout the games. Our injuries have fortunately/unfortunately allowed for others to gain valuable play time. Hopefully we’ll turn a corner next season and beat UCF in November.

Maybe by the 4th quarter but I may have been gone by then. Those 2 plays broke the spirit IMO and nothing to do with being gassed. But, then, I'm a bitter old man at this point when it comes to USF football.

They had 52 plays in the first half .... we had 51 for the whole game .... Cincy had 60 the whole game. Agree those 2 scores in less than 2 minutes were killer but even though the d made some key stops to keep the game close before those 2 td's, they were out there for a lot of plays that had to have been wearing on them.

Pretty much makes my point. How many points did we give up in the first half?  They had halftime to rest. They blew a couple of plays not because they were tired IMO.

Cool, maybe we can start playing football doubleheaders since the players can fully rejuvenate in 15 minutes .....

Magnum for sure at the goal line or 4 and 1 is being missed.

Our defense does great when we control the time of possession. They had the ball 13 more minutes than us. That's a big ask with all the injuries.

Wow they had 87 plays...that's a crazy amount.  They definitely got gassed that game.

Not to be picky, but it is 20. And if a 20 year old football player can't gather themselves in 20+ minutes we do have issues. I'm not talking about the end of the game. Midway through the 3rd maybe? By the 4th quarter I'll grant you that they were deservedly tired.

I was wondering if it was 15 or 20, and it was 2/3 of the way through the 3rd quarter ..... but again, I'm not really looking at game time that much but plays they were on the field for. Even though from the beginning of this, the "gassed" comments weren't specifically about those two plays, at that point in the 3rd quarter they had been on for 62 plays, more than the entire Cincy game. Like you said though, it's just opinions we're talking about we're going to have to just agree to disagree.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
