If you want to get funds ready for a stadium, keeping a low cost low performer is one way.  The alternative with a 2 win coach is to prepare for his firing and the big cost to hire yet another coach to do another rebuild.  

Paying two coaches at the same time would absolutely take from the budget they need to get the stadium off the ground....at least that's my rationale.

How about putting serious money into the coaching staff? Instead of getting some assistant or coordinator or lower conference coach, how about going after a proven top 15 coach?  If you want a winning

Great points. Like I said I not too worried right now as I see the OCS & 12 team playoff as a catalyst for USF in the long run.

USF needs to be a catalyst for USF.  No external factors will magically make this a competitive program again.

USF will attract an upper tier coach if they can prove that it's possible to build a "best of the rest" program here. Facilities are essential to that. The talent pool exists here. The big media market potential is here. And the road to the 12-team CFP is now being paved.

You're right. usf should totally hire saban or smart.  That is the only way to stop the pirate ship from sinking
