You gonna go up and try to peel off someone's numbers?  

I'm the same way, I think it is "old school" now to prefer the sewn on.  I'm seen some athletic wear that looks sewn on but it's still a press-on or whatever they call it in the biz..

It seems like it would be effort to iron on stitching to look like an Iron on was sewed on than it would be to just stitch something on.  The gold on here clearly displays a stitch line
