He’s given up just 4 hits and walked one. With a win today, he’s tied for the AL lead, also has AL best ERA and leads the majors in strikeouts. Awesome…a Rays win and a Sox win tonight puts Boston back in the first wildcard.

Now sitting with a 1.74 era on season and amazing .83 whip. Is current k leader too.

Could have 2 more wins from earlier in the season. Nice they gave him some support today. I'm guessing Verlander will start the All Star Game as his numbers are similar. Has one more win and the key factor is the Houston Manager Dusty Baker is coaching the American League

The UNC start made me a believer years ago. Nice to see another Bulls player have so much success. Will the Rays pay him though is the question... My boy Soto (in a down year at that), is looking at $425M for 13 years.

That is the longest such streak over a single season in American League history, and the longest in the majors since Randy Johnson had 14 in a row for Arizona in 1999. Pedro Martinez had a streak of 14 for Boston over the 1999-2000 seasons, with seven in each. McClanahan also became the first pitcher, since at least 1901 (if not ever), to have allowed 19 or fewer earned runs and stuck out 133 or more batters in his first 16 starts. I remember that, however he is showing so much more now in terms of control and in durability. He's a much better pitcher today. Tip of the cap to the Rays and the power of the MLB.
