This morning, Phoenix Sanders was called up to the Rays. Well deserved promotion based on all of his hard work in the minor leagues.

He's been tearing it up in the minors for them for several years! Great to see he's finally getting the callup.

Great game by Phoenix.  Watched him pitch alot at USF.  Never would have thought he'd be a major leaguer.  3 solid innings today and only 1 run.  My guess is they ship him right back to AAA as it seems to be the organizations MO.  But if he keeps it up someone will notice

I don't follow baseball closely but thought I had heard that there were some changes made to how often or how many times you can option a guy down and how long before coming back to the majors.

An aside, watched an extra inning game the other day. The Rays pitcher gave up a single so the designated runner on 2nd base scored. Was wondering how that works for the pitcher's stats. Checked the box score the next day and he was charged with a run but no earned runs. He also got the win since the Rays scored twice in the bottom half.
