BE co-champs in 2004 and 2010. Never outright won in BE nor in ACC. They were indy forever until joining BE in 1991. So it took them 30 years to grab one outright. And they have been playing football for over 100 years. 

I think this is important context for USF football.

They hadn't won a conference championship before but they had won a national championship, 1976 ....

Obviously ....just showing that there weren't decades of ineptness before now. They'd won several Lambert-Meadowlands Trophies (Eastern Champion whatever that is) as an Independent during those times.... and rather than shoot for conf championships, we should maybe go Indy and aim higher.

So many problems with going independent, the greatest of which is a loss in revenue.

If we had 50k strong every week and had a few seasons like cincy just had and we’re still being left out then I could see going the independent route but in our current state we’d be better off shutting down the program then going independent
