GAME DAY vs. Temple

USF returns to Raymond James Stadium following a heartbreaking, 32-31, home loss to Tulsa last Saturday that saw the Golden Hurricane score the winning points with 47 seconds to play. The Bulls will face a Temple team coming off a bye week and USF will look to end a three-game losing streak to the Owls, including a close, 39-37, loss in Philadelphia last year. USF will also look to end a 13-game conference losing streak that dates to Oct. 26, 2019 with three of its next four games at home.

HOLD ON TIGHTLY: Having held an 11-point fourth quarter lead and lost a one-point game, 32-31, vs. Tulsa last Saturday, USF turns around to face a Temple team this Saturday that the Bulls held an 11-point, late third quarter lead on last year in Philadelphia before falling by two points, 39-37, marking two of the three losses in the Jeff Scott Era by two points or less (also a 34-33 loss at Memphis in 2020).

CONFERENCE HONORS: For the first time since Nov. 9, 2020, USF earned an AAC Conference Player of the Week honor as Brian Battie was named AAC Special Teams POW for Week 7, becoming the first since kicker Spencer Shrader earned Special Teams POW after a four field goal performance at Memphis in 2020. Battie recorded the third 100-yard kickoff return in program history - ninth in AAC history - vs. Tulsa and now stands No. 7 nationally averaging 31.4 ypr. Linebacker Antonio Grier was also named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll after posting a 69-yard interception return for a TD, a forced and recovered fumble, seven tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss. He joins running back Jaren Mangham (Week 3) in earning Honor Roll recognition this season. USF has not had a player earn an AAC offensive or defensive player of the week honor since running Jordan Cronkrite did so on Oct. 8, 2018.

meh-- it will be lightly attended and on ESPN+ not national.

This is basically a non-event for most people that are not from USF or Temple.

Not sweating it. Just hope we somehow finally get off the losing streak.
